State Sen. Mary Jo White to retire in 2012

HARRISBURG - State Sen. Mary Jo White (R., Venango) said Thursday that she would not seek reelection in 2012.

White, a lawyer, has been a senator since 1997. She chairs the Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee and is vice chair of the Judiciary Committee. - AP
