Retired teacher charged with assault of students

A retired Wissahickon School District middle school teacher has been charged by Lower Gwynedd Township police with indecent contact with two students.

Ronald Goldberg, 64, of Lower Gwynedd, taught in the district until 2009. According to police, while he was at Wissahickon Middle School, he inappropriately touched two of his sixth-grade female students, one during the 2003-04 school year and one during the 2008-09 school year. He faces charges of corruption of minors, endangering the welfare of a child, and indecent assault.

Goldberg was released after posting 10 percent of his $50,000 bail; he faces a March 27 hearing. - Dan Hardy
