An unidentified man fired shots into a crowd about 12:30 a.m., striking a 22-year-old woman in the shin and a 31-year-old man in the knee, authorities said. The shooter was described as in his early to mid 20s, with a full, close-cropped beard and wearing a gray, hooded sweat jacket, blue baseball hat, and black sneakers, police said.
In a separate incident, police reported a shooting about 5 a.m. in the 1700 block of Cumberland Street that wounded a 24-year-old man critically, The victim was taken to Temple University Hospital.
