Days after a Holmesburg man was charged with slashing the tires on more than 50 parked cars, police were searching Friday for someone who slashed tires on four cars in Feltonville.

Police said the vandal caused about $1,200 in damage to the cars, parked on Gransback Street near Rockland Street. It was unclear when the vandalism occurred, though police were on the scene about 7 a.m.

David Toledo, 44, was arrested Wednesday on charges of criminal mischief, submitting false reports to police, and possession of an instrument of crime. While authorities were investigating car vandalism in February, Toledo - who works as a butcher - posed as a victim and allegedly slashed his own tires, police said.

Toledo was being held Friday in the Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility after not posting $270,000 bail, according to court documents. - Phillip Lucas
