TRENTON - A man was killed when his car struck a tree on a major highway in New Jersey's capital Christmas morning, police said.

TRENTON - A man was killed when his car struck a tree on a major highway in New Jersey's capital Christmas morning, police said.

The crash occurred about 6:40 Tuesday on southbound Route 29, not far from the Waterfront Park baseball stadium. The driver had to be extricated from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later, police said. Three passengers in the car were not injured.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation, and the names of the man killed and his passengers were not immediately disclosed. - AP
