Family: Pa. teen killed after friend brought gun

ALTOONA, Pa. - A teenage boy shot the day after Christmas is to be buried Saturday as the investigation into his death continues, authorities said.

Altoona police have released few details about the death Wednesday of Jesse McElhinney, 16, who lived with his grandparents. His grandfather, Dean Sprankle, said the teen's friend had brought over a gun earlier that day.

McElhinney died of a gunshot to the temple. The friend has not been identified.

Investigators are to meet with the Blair County district attorney to discuss whether charges will be filed, police said. - AP
