Ex-principal sentenced for possessing child porn

A former Delaware County principal was sentenced today in federal court to two years in prison for possessing child pornography.

Troy Czukoski, 43, served as the principal of the Springton Lake Middle School in the Rose Tree Media School District. Czukoski, of Exton, previously was a principal at Phoenixville Middle School.

In May, he  pleaded to a single count of possessing images of children engaging in sexually explicit conduct, but emphasized he had not traded the material with others, according to court documents.

According to prosecutors, Cuzkoski had more than 150 images stored in the rafters of his home attic. He was identified as a target during an investigation of a Canadian company that advertised "naturist" films.  U.S. Postal inspectors determined that videos he had ordered  between Nov. 2008 and Jan. 2011 contained prohibited "lascivious depictions."

In his a letter to U.S. District Judge Legrome D. Davis pleading for compassion, Cuzkoski  said he suffered lifetime depression as a result of having been molested as a child by two teenage boys.

In addition to the prison term, Judge Davis ordered Czukoski to serve 10 years of supervised release and pay a $10,000 fine.
