Person struck, killed by Amtrak train on Main Line

Service on SEPTA's Paoli-Thorndale line was suspended for 90 minutes after the fatal incident near the Wynnewood Station.

An Amtrak train struck and killed a person Wednesday morning on the Main Line.

The train hit the pedestrian about 10:35 a.m. near the Wynnewood Station, officials said.

Amtrak says the train was carrying had 103 passengers and crew en route from Harrisburg to New York. No injuries were reported on the train.

Service on SEPTA's Paoli-Thorndale line was suspended for about 90 minutes after the fatality. It resumed around noon with delays of up to 30 minutes expected.

Amtrak operates the line, which was originally known as the Pennsylvania Railroad's Main Line.

Amtrak police are investigating.
