Person killed by Amtrak train in Chester
A person was fatally struck by an Amtrak train Wednesday night in Delaware County. About 8:30 p.m., Amtrak Train 55 traveling from St. Albans, Vt., to Washington, hit a trespasser near Kerlin Street in Chester.

A person was fatally struck by an Amtrak train Wednesday night in Delaware County, authorities said.
About 8:30 p.m., Amtrak Train 55 traveling from St. Albans, Vt., to Washington, hit a trespasser near Kerlin Street in Chester, authorities said. None of the 238 passengers on the train was injured, an Amtrak spokeswoman said.
SEPTA reported that service on its Wilmington/Newark Line was suspended pending the completion of the police investigation at the scene.
