According to the Huffington Post, Gov. Chris Christie turned down a request to appear at a Romney rally Sunday night in Bucks County. Christie, an aide said, had more important things to do. It had nothing to do with it being only three days before the election.
The online news aggregator draws a connection between Christie's conspicuous absence and his "effusive" praise of President Obama last week in the wake of the storm that pounded the Garden State.
The Romney campaign invited Christie to appear at Sunday's campaign event, which was thrown at a farm in Yardley, about 20 minutes from Trenton. Despite the relative proximity of the fete, Christie refused.
A Christie's aide said it was nothing personal — the governor has only one priority and that was the safety and security of New Jerseyans.
Groused a Romney campaign source to the HuffPo: "You can't tell me he couldn't have gone over there for a night rally."
