In Center city, lack-of-sticker shock

While all was calm at the polling place at the First Presbyterian Church, in Center City, Tuesday morning, a rather sticky situation did develop.

While all was calm at the polling place at the First Presbyterian Church, in Center City, Tuesday morning, a rather sticky situation did develop.

Voters leaving the polls expressed dissatisfaction over the lack of "I voted today" stickers.

Husband and wife psychologist team David Greenwald and Wendy Foreman joked that they liked to collect their election-day stickers. Young attorney Kate Ericsson also was displeased about not getting a sticker, especially because she was running late to work.

"One of those would legitimize my lateness," she said; no comment from her employers.

Poll workers said they did not find any stickers in the set up boxes. After seeing a Tweet from an Inquirer reporter, City commissioner Al Schmidt delivered stickers to the Presbyterian voting precinct.

"They now have enough stickers to last a lifetime," Schmidt tweeted.
