A Doylestown Borough Council member resigned Tuesday over a residency issue.
Marlene Pray, who was elected from Ward 1 - one of the borough's three wards - moved to Ward 3 recently, bringing her eligibility to serve on the council into question.
A resident raised the issue at a council meeting in January, Pray said Tuesday. She said she moved with her son around the beginning of the year because of a separation from her partner.
Council President Det Ansinn said that council members would appoint a replacement within 30 days and that a special election to fill the seat would be held in November. - Chris Palmer
