Stranded skiers reported on Pennsylvania chairlift

Emergency officials are helping get stranded skiers off a malfunctioning chairlift at Tussey Mountain.

Multiple fire departments, half a dozen ambulances and police have responded to an incident at Tussey Mountain Saturday morning near State College in central Pennsylvania.

The ski lift is not moving, and emergency crews are lowering people with ropes.

Several people have been transported from the scene in ambulances.

Tussey Mountain, which opened for the season Saturday, posted the following message on its Facebook page:

"Having difficulties with the chairlift…we are working on it now. May not be able to run it today. Stay tuned … #sorry The beginner area and tube park are still open."
