Patrick M. Farrell, 57, of Fort Washington, a corporate controller and vice president, died of kidney cancer Tuesday at home.

Since 1994, Mr. Farrell had been senior vice president and controller at Jones Apparel Group, a designer and marketer of women's dresses and sportswear and of menswear. He previously was a controller for several companies in Connecticut, and began his career as an accountant with Price Waterhouse in Manhattan. He was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Mr. Farrell grew up on Long Island, N.Y., and graduated from Iona College in New Rochelle, N.Y. In 1972 he married Margaret McLaughlin, whom he had met on a blind date.

He was a New York Yankees fan, he dressed up as Santa Claus every Christmas, and he delighted in his family, she said. Every Sunday in all kinds of weather, she said, he played golf with friends at Commonwealth National Golf Club in Horsham. On vacation, he golfed at the finest courses in the United States and at St. Andrews in Scotland.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Farrell is survived by sons Kevin and Brian; his mother, Annette; seven sisters; and a granddaughter.

A Funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Alphonsus Church, 33 Conwell Dr., Maple Glen. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today and tomorrow and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Ciavarelli Funeral Home, 951 E. Butler Pike, Ambler.
