Patricia Farrell-Kerelo, 46, of Havertown, a lawyer, died of cancer Tuesday at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

For the last six years, Mrs. Farrell-Kerelo was associate with the firm of Martin, Banks, Pond, Lehocky & Wilson in Philadelphia and specialized in worker's compensation cases. "Pat's dedication to helping those injured at work in Pennsylvania was tireless," said Matthew L. Wilson, a partner in the firm. "Her tenacity through her illness was inspiring." Mrs. Farrell-Kerelo had been diagnosed with breast cancer 31/2 years ago.

She graduated from Haverford High School. She became interested in law when she was a secretary at the Ardmore law firm Haws & Burke, her brother Martin Farrell Jr. said, and earned a paralegal certificate from Widener University. While working, she earned a bachelor's degree from Villanova University and a law degree from Temple University. She then was law clerk for a Commonwealth Court judge and later was an associate with the Philadelphia firm Bellwoar, Cahill, & Quinn.

She was a Girl Scout leader and enjoyed spending time with her daughter, Allison Kerelo, and her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her daughter and brother, she is survived by her parents, Martin and Joan Farrell; four other brothers; a sister; and her former husband, John Kerelo.

A Funeral Mass will be said at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Burmont Road and Dennison Avenue, Drexel Hill. Friends may call at Williams-Lombardo-McBrearty Funeral Home, 33 Baltimore Ave., Clifton Heights, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. tomorrow and from 6 to 9 p.m. today.
