Stewart A. Lewis, 48, of Wyndmoor, an actor, artist, and computer analyst, died June 16 at Chestnut Hill Hospital of a heart attack.

Mr. Lewis appeared in more than a dozen films as an extra, including When Harry Met Sally and Witness, said his mother, Pat H. Lewis. He also made television commercials.

In the early 1980s, he appeared on a weekly KYW-TV (Channel 3) television program, Satisfaction Guaranteed. He hosted two segments on the show: "Complain With Us," in which he gave service people an opportunity to gripe; and "Streetwise," in which he showed viewers how to avoid scams. A talented magician, he performed sleight-of-hand tricks to demonstrate pickpocketing.

Mr. Lewis was a computer analyst in the 1990s for a health-care provider.

Recently he concentrated on a career in visual art. His collages have been exhibited in local galleries, his mother said, and he was an accomplished photographer and filmmaker.

He was a skilled marksman and won competitions, she said, and enjoyed travel, especially to Amsterdam.

In addition to his mother, Mr. Lewis is survived by his wife of 11 years, Joslyn Young Lewis; his father, William P. Lewis; a brother; and a sister.

A memorial service is private.
