Milton Tepper, 83, of Wynnewood, a Main Line pharmacist for more than 50 years, died of pneumonia July 7 at Lankenau Hospital.

Mr. Tepper, who grew up with five brothers in Logan, graduated from Central High School in Philadelphia and earned a bachelor's degree from Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science, now University of the Sciences. In 1945, he married Bernice "Bebe" Hurwitz. They were introduced by her brother Paul, who attended college with Mr. Tepper.

After working for another pharmacist, Mr. Tepper and Paul Hurwitz, his brother-in-law and schoolmate, bought a pharmacy in Bryn Mawr in 1947. They later owned Camp's Pharmacy in Haverford and Tepper Pharmacy in Wynnewood. Mr. Tepper operated Camp's Pharmacy until retiring in 1997. His son Steven continues to operate Tepper's Pharmacy. Paul Hurwitz died in 1972

When Mr. Tepper sold Camp's, his wife said, he received over 300 letters from customers expressing gratitude for his caring service and advice to them.

He enjoyed bridge and winters in Boca Raton, Fla.

In addition to his wife and son, he is survived by sons Allen, Richard and Charles, a brother, Max; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral was July 9 at Levine & Son Memorial Chapel, Broomall. Burial was in Mount Sharon Cemetery, Springfield.
