Edward T. King | Accountant, 83

Edward T. King, 83, of Drexel Hill, a retired accountant, died Tuesday of heart failure at Wallingford Nursing Home.

Mr. King retired at 81 from County Office of Services for the Aging in Delaware County, where he worked for more than a decade. "He liked to work," said his wife, Annamarie Staiano King. Previously he had been an accountant for Getty Oil Co. and for the Pennsylvania State Auditor's Office.

A native of Manhattan, Mr. King served in the Army in England and Germany during World War II. After his discharge, he earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Pace University in New York.

He and his wife met at a Knights of Columbus event and married in 1956. They enjoyed movies and dining out.

In addition to his wife, Mr. King is survived by a son, Anthony; a daughter, Rosemarie; a sister; and three grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be said at 11 a.m. tomorrow at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 3500 School Lane, Drexel Hill. Friends may call from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Spencer T. Videon Funeral Home, 400 Shadeland Ave., Drexel Hill.
