Millicent Harris, claims adjuster, former radiologist

A memorial service will be held tomorrow for Millicent Harris, a claims adjuster for Independence Blue Cross for 18 years and a former radiologist technician at Kensington Hospital, who died Oct. 18 at the age of 68.

A memorial service will be held tomorrow for Millicent Harris, a claims adjuster for Independence Blue Cross for 18 years and a former radiologist technician at Kensington Hospital, who died Oct. 18 at the age of 68.

She was living in Jonesboro, Ga., but had lived for many years in South Philadelphia.

Millicent was born in Philadelphia to Richard and Lillian Hawkins.

She graduated from John Bartram High School in 1957 and attended the Franklin School of Science and Arts, where she studied radiology.

She worked at Kensington Hospital, then worked in claims and benefits departments for the General Accident Insurance Co. and the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.

She joined Blue Cross in 1982.

She married Roland Harris in October 1960.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Sybil Harris and Millicent Bronson, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services: Memorial service 4 p.m. tomorrow at the Julian V. Hawkins Funeral Home, 54th Street and Haverford Avenue, West Philadelphia. *
