Mable Frazier-Dukes | Temple assistant, 63

Mable Frazier-Dukes, 63, of Logan, an administrative assistant at Temple University for 31 years, died of respiratory failure Wednesday at Albert Einstein Medical Center.

Mrs. Frazier-Dukes coordinated schedules for Temple faculty and students, most recently in the graduate program at Temple University Medical School.

She was a good organizer, said one of her daughters, Dawn Robinson, whether at Temple or planning church or family events.

A native of Manning, S.C., Mrs. Frazier-Dukes married her hometown sweetheart, Andrew B. Dukes, in 1962. In 1977, they moved to North Philadelphia. While raising four children, she earned an associate's degree in business administration from Community College of Philadelphia.

She loved reading the Bible and was an active member of Genesis Baptist Church in Philadelphia. She was a church deaconess, taught Sunday school, and volunteered in the community outreach program. She was famous for her Southern cooking, her daughter said, especially fish and grits with stewed tomatoes.

In addition to her husband and daughter, Mrs. Frazier-Dukes is survived by sons Andrew Jr. and Eric; another daughter, Bonny Reeder; four sisters; three brothers; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 259 N. 10th St. Friends may call at 10.
