Margaret L. Baldwin | Volunteer, 82

Margaret Lineinger Baldwin, 82, of West Chester, a community volunteer, died Sunday at Chester County Hospital after cancer surgery.

Mrs. Baldwin volunteered at Bring and Buy, a consignment shop in West Chester, which benefited Chester County charities. She was a former member of the auxiliary at Paoli Hospital; served on the advisory board of the Salvation Army in West Chester; and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in West Chester. She and her husband, Robert J. Baldwin, were founding members of the Pennsylvania Keysteiners, a club for German beer stein collectors.

Mrs. Baldwin graduated from West Chester High School. After earning a bachelor's degree from West Chester University, she taught school in Unionville and Collegeville for several years before her marriage in 1949. She was later a substitute teacher in the West Chester Area School District for 15 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Lynch; a son, Richard; and six grandchildren. Her husband died in 1994.

A viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Founds Funeral Home, 229 S. High St., West Chester. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the Baptist Church of West Chester, where Mrs. Baldwin was an active volunteer, 221 St. High St. Burial will be in Green Mount Cemetery, West Goshen Township.
