Patricia Gallen Trainor, 71, of Wayne, a retired administrative assistant, died of brain cancer Saturday at home.

Mrs. Trainor graduated from West Philadelphia Catholic High School and earned a bachelor's degree from Immaculata University. In 1959, she married Leonard J. Trainor. They met at summer jobs at a movie theater in Wildwood. She was a cashier, and he was the manager.

After their children were grown, Mrs. Trainor was assistant to the athletic director at Valley Forge Military Academy for several years. Then, for 12 years, she worked at the Allstate Insurance office in Chesterbrook, where her duties included organizing training programs. She retired in the mid-1990s.

She enjoyed sitting on the beach with neighbors and playing with her grandchildren in Stone Harbor, N.J., where she had a summer home, and socializing with her Wayne bridge club, which met for more than 35 years. She was quick-witted and always had a smile, her husband said.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Trainor is survived by a daughter, Patricia Monsell, sons Leonard, Kevin and Timothy; and 11 grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. today at St. Isaac Jogues Roman Catholic Church, 50 W. Walker Rd., Wayne. Friends may call at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken.
