Maryann Green Mayer, 77, formerly of Malvern, a controller for restaurants and a real estate developer, died of kidney failure April 27 at Naples Community Hospital in Florida.

Mrs. Mayer and her husband, Charles F. Mayer, moved to Naples in 1995. Wherever she lived - whether in Malvern, Naples, or at their summer home in Stone Harbor - she entertained a steady stream of visitors, their son Charles Jr. said. "Meals for six to 12 seemed to appear with ease," he said.

Mrs. Mayer graduated from Upper Darby High School and earned a bachelor's degree from the former Maryland College for Women. For many years, she handled the finances for her husband's law practice in Media, and from 1986 to 2004, she was controller for Packy's, her son's restaurant in Media. Recently she had been controller for Bonita Grande, a planned residential development in Bonita Springs, Fla., and also assisted with the finances of her son's restaurant in Virginia, Uncle Charlie's.

Mrs. Mayer was past president of the Willistown Auxiliary of Chester County Hospital.

In addition to her son, she is survived by stepdaughters Leslie Lindsey and Elizabeth Mayer; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Her husband of 50 years died in 2005.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the Church of the Good Samaritan, 212 W. Lancaster Ave., Paoli.
