Bettie M. Javoronok | School secretary, 89
Bettie Morford Javoronok, 89, of Rosemont, a retired school secretary, died of complications of heart disease May 15 at Delaware County Community Hospital.
Mrs. Javoronok graduated from Lower Merion High School and Peirce Business School and then worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad before her marriage to George Javoronok in 1943. The couple had two children. After he died in 1964, she became secretary at Narberth School and later was secretary at Bala Middle School. She was the schools' official greeter, her daughter, Margaret Fick, said. After retiring in 1986 she kept in touch with the faculty and with students, who called her Mrs. J.
For more than 60 years Mrs. Javoronok lived in Narberth, where she was a Girl Scout leader and a member of the Women's Club.
In 1978 she married Millard Kanzinger. He died in 1991.
In addition to her daughter, Mrs. Javoronok is survived by a son, Robert; four grandchildren; stepchildren Don, Frank, Russ and Richard Kanzinger and Helen Weaver; and their children and grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Narberth Presbyterian Church, Windsor and Grayling Avenues, Narberth. Mrs. Javoronok was a member of the church women's guild.
