Egyptian opposition leader Abdel Wahab el-Messiri, 70, whose Movement for Change called for President Hosni Mubarak's ouster, died Wednesday in a Cairo hospital.
Mr. Messiri was an English-literature professor and took over the leadership of the movement last year, the state-run news agency said.
The Movement for Change is also known as Kefaya, which means "enough" in English. It was established in 2004 and was the first group in Egypt to openly call for an end to Mubarak's 27-year rule.
