John D'Orazio Jr., AT&T supervisor, volunteer teacher
John F. "Jack" D'Orazio Jr., a 31-year engineering and sales supervisor for AT&T and a man who enjoyed sharing his knowledge with young people, died Tuesday. He was 66 and lived in Manahawkin, N.J., but formerly lived in Drexel Hill.
John F. "Jack" D'Orazio Jr., a 31-year engineering and sales supervisor for AT&T and a man who enjoyed sharing his knowledge with young people, died Tuesday. He was 66 and lived in Manahawkin, N.J., but formerly lived in Drexel Hill.
Jack was born in Conshohocken and started his career with AT&T in Wayne. In 1967, he was promoted to facilities engineer in Washington, D.C., and held various engineering and sales supervisory positions before going to New York City as engineering liaison to Bell Laboratories.
His last assignment with AT&T was in White Plains, N.Y. He retired in 1990, then accepted contractual assignments with Bell Labs in Holmdel, N.J.
Jack was a self-taught computer enthusiast, and used his talents to help students and faculty as a volunteer at All Saints Catholic School in Manahawkin.
He is survived by a sister, Joan M. Orler, and four brothers, Frank S., Peter R., Joseph J. and Leo P. D'Orazio.
Services: Funeral Mass 11:30 a.m. tomorrow at St. Pius X Church, 220 Lawrence Road, Broomall. Friends may call at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery.
