Perez Celis | Argentine artist, 69

Perez Celis, 69, an Argentine muralist, painter and sculptor, died Saturday.

Mr. Celis, who had leukemia, died at the Otamendi sanitarium in the capital, Buenos Aires.

Considered one of the great figures of contemporary Argentine art, Mr. Celis lived and worked in Lima, Peru; Caracas, Venezuela; Montevideo, Uruguay; Paris; and New York. He was born in 1939 in Buenos Aires. - AP
