Frank J. Serratore 3d | Athletic director, 56

Frank J. Serratore 3d, 56, of Folcroft, former athletic director for the Folcroft Boys Club, died Sunday at Cooper University Hospital in Camden from injuries suffered in an auto accident last month. On Nov. 16, Mr. Serratore was driving home from visiting his grandchildren in Gloucester Township when his car was hit by another vehicle. The accident is under investigation.

Frank J. Serratore 3d, 56, of Folcroft, former athletic director for the Folcroft Boys Club, died Sunday at Cooper University Hospital in Camden from injuries suffered in an auto accident last month. On Nov. 16, Mr. Serratore was driving home from visiting his grandchildren in Gloucester Township when his car was hit by another vehicle. The accident is under investigation.

Mr. Serratore graduated from Darby-Colwyn High School. During the Vietnam War, he served in the Army in Germany.

After his discharge in 1972, he married his high school sweetheart, Judy Ogden. They raised five children in Folcroft. For 25 years, Mr. Serratore was active with the Folcroft Boys Club. He helped with the club's football program and coached Darby Little League teams.

Mr. Serratore worked at the Kmart Distribution Center in Fairless Hills for 25 years and eventually became a manager. After leaving Kmart several years ago, he was operations manager for a moving company and recently worked for Valassis, a direct mail advertising distributor in Folcroft.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons Frank IV, Jason and Justin; a nephew, Fred Ogden, and a niece, Annamarie Fleming, who Mr. Serratore and his wife raised as their children; three brothers; two sisters; and six grandchildren.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. tomorrow and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at Cavanagh Funeral Home, 301 Chester Pike, Norwood. A Funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Gabriel Church, 233 Mohawk Ave., Norwood. Burial will be in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Marple Township.
