John F. Jeffers, 57, of Lower Gwynedd, a company vice president who was active in youth sports, died of prostate cancer Sunday at home.

John F. Jeffers, 57, of Lower Gwynedd, a company vice president who was active in youth sports, died of prostate cancer Sunday at home.

For the last 25 years, Mr. Jeffers had been vice president of Mid-Atlantic Construction Co. in Blue Bell.

He grew up in Mount Airy and graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School in Philadelphia. He earned a bachelor's degree from La Salle University.

Since 1980, he had been married to his high school sweetheart, Karen Williams Jeffers. While their sons were growing up, he coached teams for the Lower Gwynedd Little League and was league president. He later supported the swimming, water polo, and baseball teams at La Salle College High School.

Mr. Jeffers served on the board and was past president of the Minorca Swim Club in Dresser.

He enjoyed gardening and golf and was a member of Sandy Run Country Club in Oreland.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Jeffers is survived by sons Christopher and Brian, two sisters, and a brother.

A Funeral Mass will be said at 11 a.m. today at St. Rose of Lima Church, 428 S. Main St., North Wales. Friends may call at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham.
