In 1955, she and her husband joined the lumber company her father-in-law established in 1923. She handled finances and never retired from her position as secretary-treasurer for the firm, which is now headed by her grandson Eric Tucker.
Mrs. Beatty served on the board of Rosemont Presbyterian Home for Children and was board president for 10 years in the 1960s and 1970s.

In addition to her daughter and grandson, she is survived by a son, David; four other grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Her husband; a son, Robert; and her grandson Scott Tucker preceded her in death.
