Services set for woman found dead in Sea Isle City

Services for Tracy E. Hottenstein, 35, of Conshohocken, whose body was found Sunday in the water near Ludlum Bay in Sea Isle City, N.J., have been set for Saturday.

A viewing from 9 a.m. to noon at the Franconia Mennonite Church, 613 Harleysville Pike, Telford, Montgomery County, will be followed by a noon funeral there. Burial will be in Old Goschenhoppen Cemetery, Church Road in Woxall, Upper Salford Township.

Miss Hottenstein was found by a passerby shortly before 8 a.m. at the Sea Isle City Marina at 42d Place.

A sister-in-law, Domenica Hottenstein, said yesterday that Miss Hottenstein had been at the Shore with friends for the Polar Bear Plunge, a weekend charity event.

The cause of death remains under investigation.

A veteran long-distance runner, Miss Hottenstein was a 1991 graduate of Souderton High School and earned her bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Delaware in 1995.

Cocaptain of her high school cheerleading team, she played lacrosse in high school and college. She was also a lacrosse coach for a league sponsored by Plymouth Township.

In 2003, her sister-in-law said, Miss Hottenstein ran the 13.1-mile Philadelphia Distance Run and the San Diego Marathon, her only marathon.

In 2004 and 2005, Miss Hottenstein ran the 10-mile Broad Street Run in Philadelphia.

Since 1995, Domenica Hottenstein said, Miss Hottenstein had been a sales representative for pharmaceutical firms; since 2004 she had been with the West Chester office of Daiichi Sankyo Inc.

Miss Hottenstein is survived by her parents, Charles S. and Elizabeth K. Hottenstein; grandfather Gerald G. Hottenstein; brothers Scott and Troy; and six nieces and nephews.
