Christofer P. Mungiole, 33, a Bucks County pharmacist, died of heart failure Saturday at his home in Huntingdon Valley.

Raised in the Torresdale neighborhood of Northeast Philadelphia, Mr. Mungiole graduated in 1993 from Father Judge High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society.

He earned his bachelor's degree in pharmacy in 1998 from what is now the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia.

For the last six years, said his wife, Nicole, he had worked at Express Scripts Inc., a mail-order pharmacy in Trevose.

When he was 13, Mr. Mungiole began a five-year run of working weekends and summers selling cheese at the Ninth Street Italian Market.

That enterprising spirit carried over, his wife said, to his skill as a blackjack and craps player. He traveled to Las Vegas more than two dozen times, she said, and used $20,000 he won when he was 24 for a down payment on a home.

As a teenager, he played baseball and soccer for the Torresdale Boys Club.

Besides his wife, who is expecting their first child, he is survived by his mother, Susan Mungiole; brother Matthew; sister Serena Ciallella; his grandmother Doris Mungiole; a niece; and a nephew. His father, Larry Mungiole, died last year.

A viewing will be held at 7 p.m. today at the DiGiacomo Funeral Home, 1055 Southampton Rd., Philadelphia. Visitation is at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow at Johnson Memorial Methodist Church, Hawthorne and Longshore Avenues, Philadelphia, before a 9:30 a.m. funeral there. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Adams Avenue and Ramona Street, Philadelphia.
