Barbara Feick Daniel, 63, of Wilmington, a Delaware County college teacher and administrator, died of breast cancer March 4 at the home of a family friend in Swarthmore.

Barbara Feick Daniel, 63, of Wilmington, a Delaware County college teacher and administrator, died of breast cancer March 4 at the home of a family friend in Swarthmore.

Since 1999, Mrs. Daniel had been the assistant director of academic affairs at the Brandywine campus of Pennsylvania State University in Middletown.

Born in Philadelphia, Mrs. Daniel was a 1963 graduate of Abington Senior High School and earned a bachelor's degree in English from Immaculata College in 1967.

She earned a master's degree in education from the University of Maryland in 1971, a master's degree in religious studies from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Lower Merion in 1985, and a doctorate in ministry from the Graduate Theological Foundation in South Bend, Ind., in 2000.

Mrs. Daniel had been at the Delaware County campus of Penn State for more than 30 years.

From 1976 to 1987, she was an adjunct English instructor, helping nurses and police officers complete their bachelor's degrees. Since 1987, she had been an English instructor there.

Mrs. Daniel was the chief student-affairs officer at the campus from 1994 to 1999, coordinating a staff dealing with such matters as career counseling and student government.

From 2000 to 2004, she was coordinator of the campus Advising Center.

Mrs. Daniel had a parallel career at St. John Chrysostom Church in Wallingford.

From 1976 to 1980, she taught religion courses there; from 1980 to 1985, she was codirector of religious education; and from 1985 to 1993, she was a pastoral assistant.

She had been coordinator of the parish's faith sharing groups since 1985 and chairwoman of the parish's justice and peace group since 1995.

She is survived by sons Stephen and Jonathan; her mother, Helen; and a sister. Her husband, Joseph, died in 2003.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Carr Funeral Home, 935 S. Providence Rd., Wallingford. A Funeral Mass will be said at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at St. John Chrysostom Church, 617 S. Providence Rd., Wallingford. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham.
