Edward J. Burke | Services set

A Funeral Mass for Edward "Eddie" J. Burke, 63, of Havertown, will be said Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Dorothy Roman Catholic Church, Township Line and Burmont Roads, Drexel Hill. Friends may call from 10 a.m. Friday and from 6 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the church. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon.

Mr. Burke, who died Monday, coached the Drexel University basketball team for 14 years and coached Catholic League high school basketball teams in the Philadelphia area for almost 20 years.

Since retiring in 2004 as director of alumni relations at St. Joseph's Preparatory School, Mr. Burke had operated his family's bar, Burke's Inn, in Havertown.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Elizabeth Ann "B.A." Martin Burke; daughters Maureen Julien and Melissa; a son, Brendan; a brother; a sister; and two grandchildren.
