Marylou Gargie Fluehr, 72, of Philadelphia, former manager of a Bensalem funeral home, died of pancreatic cancer April 7 at her home.
Marylou Gargie Fluehr, 72, of Philadelphia, former manager of a Bensalem funeral home, died of pancreatic cancer April 7 at her home.
From 1964 until she retired in 2007, she was in charge of the Bucks County location of Fluehr Funeral Home, operated by her husband, Richard, and which also has a location in Northeast Philadelphia.
Born in Sunbury, Pa., she graduated from Sunbury High School in 1954 and, her daughter Beth Ann Wise said, worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone Co. of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia in the 1950s.
Besides her husband and daughter, Mrs. Fluehr is survived by son Richard Jr., daughter Karen Heinkel, a brother, and seven grandchildren.
A viewing is set from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday and 8:30 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Fluehr Funeral Home, 864 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, followed by an 11 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Bristol Pike at Hulmeville Road, Bensalem. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.
