Jacquelyn Hagele Meadows, 60, of West Chester, a chef and caterer, died of cancer of the appendix Monday at her home.

Jacquelyn Hagele Meadows, 60, of West Chester, a chef and caterer, died of cancer of the appendix Monday at her home.

Born in Darby, Mrs. Meadows graduated from Downingtown High School in 1967, and earned a bachelor's degree in business and communications from Pennsylvania State University in 1972. She was a chef at the Pritikin Longevity Center in Downingtown from 1980 to 1986, her husband, Brian, said, and a sous chef at the Commissary in Philadelphia from 1986 to 1989.

Since 1991, he said, she had run her own business, Heaven on Earth Catered Natural Foods, in West Chester. Since 2006, she had been a member of the Atlantic Coast Athletic Club in West Chester.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Meadows is survived by a brother, two sisters, seven nephews, and six nieces.

A memorial was set for 1 p.m. tomorrow at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 109 E. Doe Run Rd., Unionville, followed by a reception there. Burial is to be private.
