Judy Dillon Wilkins, 49, formerly of Cherry Hill and a registered nurse, died of ovarian cancer Wednesday at her home in Somers Point, N.J.

For seven years, Mrs. Wilkins was a case manager for AmeriHealth, a medical-insurance company.

The oldest of seven children, she grew up in Cherry Hill. Her father, Hugh, was an obstetrician and gynecologist in Audubon. After graduating from Pope Pius VI High School in Haddon Township, she earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from Gwynedd Mercy College.

In 1983, she married Walter Wilkins. They fell in love in Ocean City, N.J., he said. When he took a teaching position at Atlantic City High School, she joined the nursing staff of the former Children's Seashore House in Atlantic City.

While their two daughters were growing up, Mrs. Wilkins coached softball teams in Somers Point and coached the cheerleading squad for the Somers Point Sharks, a youth football team.

An avid gardener, she attended the annual Philadelphia Flower Show even while undergoing chemotherapy, her family said. She enjoyed shopping in Lancaster and going to restaurants and concerts in Philadelphia including the Elton John-Billy Joel concert in July.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Wilkins is survived by daughters Colleen and Lauren; her mother, Virginia Dillon; two brothers; and four sisters.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Rd., Northfield, N.J., and from 10 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. tomorrow at St. Joseph's Church, 606 Shore Rd., Somers Point.
