Steven G. Brown, 64, of St. Davids, a lawyer, died Tuesday of a myeloproliferative disorder, a blood disease, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Steven G. Brown, 64, of St. Davids, a lawyer, died Tuesday of a myeloproliferative disorder, a blood disease, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Since 1976, Mr. Brown had been a founding partner with Petrikin, Wellman, Damico, Brown & Petrosa in Media, practicing corporate and real estate law. He was very loyal to his clients, who often became his friends, said Don Petrosa, another partner.
Mr. Brown graduated from Cheltenham High School and earned a bachelor's degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. After graduating from Villanova University Law School, where he was a Law Review editor, he clerked for Judge Paul Chaflin on the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. He worked for another Media law firm before establishing Petrikin, Wellman, Damico, Brown & Petrosa.
Since 1967, he had been married to Jane Spritzer Brown, whom he met on a blind date when both were 18. He needed a date for the intra-fraternity ball at Penn, she said.
He enjoyed vacations with their children and grandchildren in South Palm Beach, Fla.; travel abroad; Philadelphia Orchestra concerts; and Eagles, 76ers, and Phillies games, she said.
Mr. Brown had been a member of Temple Shalom in Broomall for 35 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Howard; daughters Alison Ostroff and Ellyn Halper; and seven grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. today at Goldsteins' Rosenberg's Raphael-Sacks, 6410 N. Broad St. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Trevose.
