Father Carl D. Cellucci, 81; parish priest for 57 years

THE REV. Carl D. Cellucci, who served a number of parishes in and around Philadelphia in 57 years as a Roman Catholic priest, died Sunday of cancer. He was 81.

THE REV. Carl D. Cellucci, who served a number of parishes in and around Philadelphia in 57 years as a Roman Catholic priest, died Sunday of cancer. He was 81.

Father Cellucci was born in Philadelphia to Carl Cellucci and Gerarda Acchione. He attended St. Donato Parochial School and St. Thomas More High School before entering St. Charles Borromeo Seminary.

He was ordained on May 30, 1953, by the Most Rev. John F. O'Hara in the Cathedral Basilica of Ss. Peter and Paul.

He served as parochial vicar at St. Anthony of Padua Parish, Easton; Holy Rosary, Reading; St. Anthony of Padua, Chester; Mater Dolorosa, Philadelphia; Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Bridgeport; Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Philadelphia; and Holy Saviour, Norristown.

He served as pastor of St. Mary of the Eternal, St. Thomas Aquinas and Mother of Divine Grace, all Philadelphia.

He is survived by a sister, Lorraine Connolly, and a brother, Carmen Thomas Cellucci.

Services: Funeral Mass 11 a.m. today at St. Francis Country House, Darby. The service of the Transfer of the Body will be held at 9 a.m. followed by a viewing. Burial will be in Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Marple.
