Joy Merrie Janice, 49, of Newtown Square, a management consultant, died of breast cancer and leukemia Monday, March 28, at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
Joy Merrie Janice, 49, of Newtown Square, a management consultant, died of breast cancer and leukemia Monday, March 28, at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
Ms. Janice graduated from Pennsauken High School. She earned a bachelor's degree from Drexel University and a master's degree in business administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
For the last seven years, she had been with Tunnell Consulting in King of Prussia. Her clients included the National Institutes of Health. Previously, Ms. Janice was a management consultant with Arthur Andersen and Price Waterhouse in Philadelphia.
An amateur painter, she enjoyed visiting galleries, as well as the theater. She belonged to a wine tasting group, and had traveled to more than 40 countries for business and pleasure.
Ms. Janice had a summer home in Avalon, N.J., and was a flag officer of the Avalon Yacht Club.
She is survived by her parents, Joyce and George Janice, and her partner of nine years, Mitch Toub.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 3, and from 9:30 a.m. Monday, April 4, followed by a funeral at 11, at D'Anjolell Memorial Home, 2811 West Chester Pike, Broomall. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill.
