Cathy D. Wellman | Business owner, 44

Cathy Diane Barbato Wellman, 44, of West Chester, owner of Westtown Office Solutions, died of a heart attack Monday, May 2, at Chester County Hospital.

Mrs. Wellman graduated from Bishop Shanahan High School in West Chester in 1985. She worked in Colorado before returning to Chester County.

She and her husband, Stephen M. Wellman, met when they were working for 3-D Structures in Avondale, which manufactures planetariums. They married in 1997.

For more than 10 years, she owned and operated Westtown Office Solutions, providing bookkeeping and secretarial services to businesses and individuals.

Mrs. Wellman volunteered at Westtown-Thornbury School, where her son, Matthew, is a student, and was a den mother for his Cub Scout pack.

She relished vacations and long weekends on Long Beach Island, was a Flyers fan, and enjoyed the latest technology, her family said.

In addition to her son and husband, Mrs. Wellman is survived by her parents, Victor and Geraldine Barbato, and three brothers.

A Funeral Mass will be said at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 15 E. Pleasant Grove Rd., West Chester. Friends may call from 8:30. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester.
