Leigh W. Bauer, 73, longtime partner in a Philadelphia law firm, died Wednesday, June 22, at his home in Gwynedd Estates, a retirement community near Ambler, after a recent fall.

Leigh W. Bauer, 73, longtime partner in a Philadelphia law firm, died Wednesday, June 22, at his home in Gwynedd Estates, a retirement community near Ambler, after a recent fall.

He worked at Diamond, Polsky & Bauer, the firm he joined as a partner fresh out of law school, his son, Stephen, said.

The firm's website states that its six lawyers handle estate planning and administration, business law, and real estate.

Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Bauer graduated from Germantown Friends School in 1955, earned a bachelor's degree at Lafayette College in 1959, and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1962.

From soon after his law school graduation until December 2010, his son said, Mr. Bauer also taught legal studies to undergraduates and graduate students at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

An outdoorsman, he was a member of the Maine Professional Guides Association.

Besides his son, Mr. Bauer is survived by his wife, Delores; a daughter, Beth Montanari; a stepson, Leonard Parks Jr.; a sister; six grandchildren; and his former wife, Lyn Bauer.

A memorial has been tentatively set for Sunday, Aug. 21, with an hour and site to be determined.
