Brian L. Harr, 53, of Bensalem, a director of human resources and youth sports coach, died of heart failure Sunday, Nov. 27, at Aria Health-Torresdale Campus.

Brian L. Harr, 53, of Bensalem, a director of human resources and youth sports coach, died of heart failure Sunday, Nov. 27, at Aria Health-Torresdale Campus.

Since 2008, Mr. Harr had been director of human resources at Summerwood Corp. in Conshohocken. The company operates more than 75 Taco Bell, KFC, Pizza Hut Express, Long John Silver's, and A&W restaurants in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.

Previously, Mr. Harr had been a training manager for Pep Boys in Philadelphia.

He also taught business and human resources classes at Holy Family University.

The father of two young sons, Mr. Harr coached CYO basketball and soccer and coached flag football for i9 Sports in Bensalem. He served on the board of the Fathers Association at Holy Ghost Preparatory School and was active with the Nazareth Academy Parents Association.

He enjoyed scuba diving and traveling. In 1995, he, his wife, Regina Barnes-Harr, and his parents went to Germany, where his father had been stationed after World War II. The couple also traveled to Ireland and spent July 4, 2000, at the foot of the Grand Canyon. They returned to the Grand Canyon in 2009 with their sons. "It was his favorite place," his wife said.

A native of Johnstown, Pa., Mr. Harr graduated from Bishop McCort Catholic High School there in 1976. He earned bachelor's degrees in history and criminology in 1980 and a master's degree in industrial security and labor relations in 1982 from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

In addition to his wife of 26 years, Mr. Harr is survived by sons Chance and Denver; his parents, Robert and Helen Harr; and a brother.

Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at Tomlinson Funeral Home, 2207 Bristol Pike, Bensalem. A Funeral Mass will be said at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church, 1731 Hulmeville Rd., Bensalem. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.
