Born Marcia Witter in Bloomfield, N.J., Mrs. Jenkins graduated from high school in California and earned an associate degree at Camden County College in 2001, her husband, P. James Jenkins, said in a phone interview.

She retired from Idea Lab as director of strategic business development, he said.

Mrs. Jenkins was a member of the Haddon Heights Republican Club from 2006 to 2010, for which she staged all its special events.
She was a volunteer for Interfaith Caregivers in the 2000s, for which she planned events and drove folks to them.
She was a member in the 2000s of Good Neighbors of Haddon Heights, the website for which states that it was formed to help residents "who required short-term material assistance."
At First Presbyterian Church of Haddonfield, she was a deacon and worked on its personnel committee.
