The veteran character actress had made numerous guest appearances on TV shows since the 1970s.
On The Big Bang Theory, Ms. Susi wasn't on camera as the overbearing mother of Simon Helberg's Howard Wolowitz, but her character's loud, Brooklyn-accented voice was instantly recognizable. Ms. Susi also appeared on TV shows including Cheers, Mad About You, and Seinfeld.
