Keith Ryan | U.S. diplomat, 37

Keith Ryan, 37, an American diplomat posted to Pakistan and the son of Boston Globe sports columnist Bob Ryan, was found dead at his residence in Islamabad, Pakistan.

Mr. Ryan apparently took his life Monday just before a scheduled return to Maryland to visit his wife and 8-year-old triplets, the State Department said. Pakistani authorities are investigating the death.

Mr. Ryan was an attache for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.

Bob Ryan remembered his son - a graduate of Boston College Law School and the London School of Economics - for his academic determination and conservative political outlook, which led him to government service.
