Letters: A movie called 'Hypocrisy'
SAVE YOUR self-righteous editorials and emotionally manipulative exposes filled with shock and disbelief at the state of youth today. To a city appalled that children would hunt the weak and disabled in animalistic packs, inflicting harm as a form of entertainment, save your outrage - it's shallow and vapid.
To people disgusted that someone would purposely vomit on a man and his daughters at a baseball game, thinking such an act is uncivilized and barbaric, save your repulsion, it's hypocritical at best.
To those who bemoan the fact that society, and youth in particular, exist in a septic tank void of morals and responsibility, your contrived abhorrence is sanctimonious and self-serving.
For the same outraged society made the movie "Kick-Ass" the most profitable for the last two weeks. In this movie, an 11-year-old actress murders in the name of vigilantism and uses language so vile it could only be printed in Penthouse.
America, in this downtrodden economic era, applauded wildly by throwing money at the movie. With one face, you crave pornography, violence and immorality. With the other, you sob and lament the lack of civility, righteousness and self-control.
The director said this movie is empowering to children. Empowering against what? Rich, white suburban boredom or archaic, narrow-minded morals?
So save your blogs filled with disgust at inappropriate behavior, and save your tears when another child dies sipping the poison from the cup of senseless violence.
Save your frustration at our pathetic education system, save your heartache at the state of the family. You love the destruction, crave the immorality, and thirst for the vile behavior.
Stand up, be proud and claim the world you have created. But please save the self-righteous, sanctimonious, contrived, hypocritical outrage. Then watch the movie "Idiocracy" and embrace the future.

Bensalem Babylon
According to a news report, a former sergeant in the Bensalem special victims unit has been charged with sexually assaulting a woman at the Bensalem Rescue Squad. Can't you just hear Susan Finkelstein saying, "Heal thyself, Bensalem Police Department"?

Forget Eagles - Go, Flyers!
Yo! How about a little respect for the Flyers? They are the ones in the playoffs now.
In yesterday's paper, you have the front and back page, plus five others devoted to the NFL draft. Who cares? It's hockey time. Anyway, you know Andy Reid will screw it up. Let's go, Flyers - Eagles, wait your turn.
