Letters: The State of Spendsylvania

THE PUBLIC owes John Baer and the Daily News kudos for the courage to expose the fiscal shenanigans of the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program.

THE PUBLIC owes John Baer and the

Daily News

kudos for the courage to expose the fiscal shenanigans of the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program.

The legacy of debt foisted on future generations of state taxpayers is proof of the hypocrisy of elected officials pretending to serve the public interest.

Despite the potential of powerful politicians to pressure advertisers to threaten the paper if Baer isn't suppressed, our People Paper continues to reveal the subterfuge of self-interest perpetuated by the Machiavellian antics of the state Legislature in their service to lobbyists and political patrons.

Keep up the good work.

Demonizing Beck

Op-ed columnist Fatimah Ali, like all liberal/progressives, misses the point of the tea party and Glenn Beck.

And instead of investigating the issues he brings up, she insults him.

You demonize Mr. Beck for holding a rally in Washington on Aug. 28. Can't those of us who love America show it? I guess your ears curl when you hear Mr. Beck's name because you know, deep down, that he is right in what he says.

I haven't heard one person disprove the facts he brings out. Of course, you resort to blaming Bush. That and accusing people of racism are your two main talking points.

Race has nothing to do with this. Nothing. It's just that Barack Obama has put this country into a hole that we may never climb out of. His constant criticizing of America is deplorable, and yet it's ignored.

Just because he's black doesn't give him the right to undermine the American people. Black or white, his record must be truthfully investigated.

Liberal/progressives have made this a racial issue. Is that all you have? Let me hear you refute what Glenn Beck has brought out. The truth hurts.
