Letters: Christmas wish list for U.S. taxpayers

JUST IN TIME for Christmas, hardworking taxpayers Bob Cratchit and his family (the downtrodden American public) will be wondering what decisions Jacob Marley and Ebenezer Scrooge (Sen. Mitch McConnell and Rep. John Boehner) will be making about their economic futures. It will be interesting to watch how this modern-day Christmas story plays out. Will they side with the Cratchit family and Tiny Tim and raise taxes on themselves and banker Henry A. Potter (Wall Street CEOs)? Or, will they continue to require that banker Potter continue his Wonderful Life with his historic-low taxation entitlement? Only the Ghost of Christmas future knows.

The Ryan Howard Foundation and what it is trying to do for the Philadelphia School District has brought tears of joy. I often wondered how highly paid athletes can drive around a city, see the poverty and then turn a blind eye. Kudos to Mr. Howard.

Re: "most" of the current drivers on the roads. I pick up my son at Route 1 and 202 at around 6:30 a.m. on most days. I come from Jennersville and, quite frankly, I have never seen a bigger bunch of a------- driving. They go 70 mph and weave in and out of traffic . . . to go where? I have seen people reading papers, applying makeup, etc. Earth to people: Maybe get up a little earlier and you would not have to drive like idiots. I have been driving for 47 years and, quite frankly, I hate to drive anymore. People should be retested regularly and should have to pay for the retest if they want to continue driving. I do not know why they even post speed limits, as most drive as fast as they can anyway. If stupidity were a crime, most of these drivers would be in jail. Any of these people who are reading this are probably doing it in their car as they drive.

Surprise!

I have written to most of the writers for this paper and they respond. Marc Lamont Hill does not, and the reason I believe is because he has no answers. He is an idiot. He is a racist, but if a white person wrote a column about race, he would be run out of town. Did you ever see a black person wear a white player's jersey? Ever see a black person adopt a white baby? Who is really racist? I would be surprised if this letter gets in the paper.
