Plenty of celebration at the zoo

Valentine's Day, Lincoln's 200th, and animal couples.

Philadelphia Zoo guests are invited to celebrate this Valentine's Day weekend by strolling among animal couples, including the zoo's newest red panda couple, Pip and Jing Li.

On Saturday, the zoo will host a Valentine's Day Pajama Prowl, where families can take a hike through the zoo after dark and learn about animal valentines and gift-giving, meet animal couples, and make gifts for a beloved animal of their choice. Families can stroll through the park Sunday as well.

A February Birthday Bash is planned at the zoo Monday, where families can honor Abraham Lincoln's 200th birthday by celebrating, and making gifts for, those zoo animals who share February birthdays.

Valentine's Day Stroll, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday (free with admission), the Valentine's Day Pajama Prowl, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday ($25; $20 per member) and the February Birthday Bash, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday (free with admission) at the Philadelphia Zoo, 3400 W. A Monster of a Finale

Monster Jam will make a stop at the Wachovia Spectrum for five shows throughout the weekend, offering 10,000-pound trucks competing in races and performing stunts.

Some of the four-wheelers joining headliner Grave Digger will be Donkey Kong, Brutus, Backdraft, Spike and Dominator. A smashing good time is planned.

Monster Jam, 7:30 tonight and 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Wachovia Spectrum, 3601 S. Broad St. Tickets are $15-$40. Information: 215-336-3600

Child-friendly Valentine's

World Cafe Live will host a Very Special Valentine's Day Show at 11:30 a.m. Saturday. The show, part of its Dodge Caravan Peanut Butter and Jams series, will feature the child-friendly rock-and-roll band Milkshake.

Singer Lisa Matthews and guitarist Mikel Gehl will open their love-themed performance with "When You Were Born," regarded by the band as a mother's love song to her child.

During the event, each family will be given free chocolate kisses and a Milkshake comic book. An all-you-can-eat lunch buffet will be served during and after the show.

Very Special Valentine's Day Show, 11:30 a.m. (doors open at 11 a.m.) at World Cafe Live, 3025 Walnut St. Tickets are $10, $7 for children ages 1-12, and free for children under a year (prices do not include the buffet).
